I will advocate for Increased Teacher Starting Pay (Annual Salary – 10 months):

I will advocate for Universal Salary Increase – ex. HB 932 (The Ten Percent Raise) for all Teachers.

 

I will advocate for Increased Funding to our Support Public Schools. Currently, NC ranks 50 of 50 nationally with regards to funding level and funding effort. In 2025, NC spends approximately $5600 less per student than the national average. (Source: EdNC)

 

I will continue to advocate for the needs of our children and our community. I will also advocate for stronger PTA’s and Parent Involvement.

 

I will advocate for Increased Mental Health Awareness and Mental Health Services.

 

I will execute a Root-cause Analysis for Low Performing Schools and Identify Goals and Action Plans for Systemic and Sustained Improvement.

 

  

FIGHT POVERTY & CREATE ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY

“I Believe that Opportunity and Economic Disparity Should Never Be Determined by Your Zip Code”

 

I will work to create and manage immediate and long-term infrastructure solutions for the known and ongoing issues regarding Anson County’s Water Crisis. I will advocate for solutions that will eliminate the health and well-being and morale impacts to our Anson neighbors.

 

I will advocate for Increased Minimum Wage from $7.25/hour to $15.00/hour to drive meaningful progress towards achieving and sustaining a living wage and eliminating the affordability crisis.

 

I will advocate for the creation of employment opportunities and job preparedness for graduates and adults: certification programs with community college.

 

I will advocate for practical plans and reapply “out of the box” solutions to address the severe shortage of affordable housing. (For example, the exploration of options to utilize the closed East Union Middle School for affordable housing for our teachers.) NC faces a significant affordable housing shortage — the state needs about 545,000 affordable homes for lower-income families, with 382,000 units needed for renters earning $700 or less per month. I will advocate for educating our Seniors, Caregivers, and Families on available services, including care centers, that support our Seniors.

 

I will assess and advocate for needed services, including care centers, aging related home modifications, and mental health services for our Seniors.

 

I will advocate for affordable healthcare for all seniors.

 

I will advocate for transition support and community resources for our veterans.

 

 

SAFE COMMUNITIES FOR ALL

I will work to Strengthen Community Engagement and Partnerships with local law enforcement.

SUPPORT OUR NC FARMERS TO STRENGTHEN OUR AGRICULTURE

Agriculture plays a crucial role in North Carolina's economy, with the state ranking eighth in the U.S. for the value of agricultural products sold, totaling approximately $18.7 billion. (Source: ncruralcenter.org)

 

I will advocate for our farmers, especially our small farms, that have been outpriced by war, tariffs and funding cuts.

I will advocate for policies and programs that support our farmers, increase the number of farms, ensure food safety, provide disaster assistance, and promote sustainable practices.

 

I will advocate for educational programs and resources that prepare students for careers in agriculture and life sciences, contributing to the state's agricultural innovation and economic growth.
